Fidelity Engineering sets itself apart from its competitors by staying on the leading-edge of technology, Vice President and partner Carmine Mistichelli says. The Sparks, Md.-based company specializes in emergency power systems and building mechanical systems for clients ranging from developers and owners to general contractors. “Our goal is to offer real value and creative solutions for our clients,” Mistichelli says. “Our in-house professional engineering team gives us that extra edge we need to stay out front. “We have invested heavily in ongoing training for our employees so we can truly be a single-source solutions provider,” he adds. In addition to being one of the nation’s largest distributors of Kohler emergency generators, Fidelity’s capabilities include building mechanical systems with a special emphasis on mission-critical environmental systems, specialty healthcare applications, tenant improvement, energy management systems and design/build mechanical services. The company focuses on the Maryland, Delaware, Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia markets, which are all especially hot right now, according to Mistichelli. ‘Green but Lean’ Coming up with energy-efficient solutions for clients who want to obtain LEED certification has been a key focus for Fidelity Engineering over the past five years, Mistichelli says. “We’re green but lean,” he remarks. “With energy costs skyrocketing and a growing concern for our environment, our challenge is to provide green solutions that make economic sense for our clients. “As building owners have become more sophisticated, we have clearly seen a shift away from simply purchasing low first-cost mechanical systems to a more holistic way of thinking by focusing on total life-cycle costs and environmental responsibility.” “We designed our Power Systems logo to incorporate the color red to signify urgency, which is why we are in the business to provide emergency stand-by power to our clients at all times,” President Dave Lanphar explains. “Furthermore, the color green was chosen for our Mechanical Services logo to reflect Fidelity having gone green. “Our commitment to our environment and the demands of our customers is so strong that we wanted to demonstrate this within our logos. Today, our business is being driven by energy savings projects, LEED building construction and environmentally friendly mechanical systems.” “Our strategy to overcome this obstacle is that we begin recruiting at the high school level and offer real opportunities to those eager to learn and work hard,” Mistichelli says. |
